Tough Conference Game leads to Loss for Beaver
Schuylkill Haven, PA- The Lions continued conference play today traveling to Penn State Schuylkill. Beaver continued to fight however falling short with a final score of 100-78.
A competitive match up with Penn State Beavers conference record being 3-4 and Penn State Schuylkill record being 2-4. The Lions had a strong start to the game with the first points scored by Alex Green which was a made 3 pt jump shot. The first half continued with a lot of back and forth play ending the half Beaver down by 10 with a score of 48-38. The second half Schuylkill came out strong and dominated most of the game. Halfway through the second half Chris Green knocked down a clutch free throw bringing Beaver within 10. Beaver continued playing hard but were out scored 52-40 in the second half. Overall Beaver had a field goal percentage of 51.7 percent and they shot a 81.3 percent from the foul line as a team.
Fourth year Chris Green (Washington, DC) was the top scorer in tonight's game finishing with 19 points, 3 assists, and 9 rebounds. Second year Josh McCloud (Houston, TX) finished with 17 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Second year Xavier Ryan (Philadelphia, PA) finished with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
