Shenango Splits with Rival Beaver

The Penn State Shenango Men's and Women's Basketball teams took on rival Penn State Beaver in a doubleheader on Wednesday night at the Buhl Club. The night started off rough as the Shenango women's team got off to a slow start. Beaver jumped out to an early 13-2 lead and never looked back. The Shenango Lady Lions could not overcome the pressure of the Beaver defense, ultimately falling 80-67. Alli Lewis led Shenango with 22 points off of the bench and Hailee Aguinaga landed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Men's Basketball team extended their conference win streak to three games with their win over Beaver. They took a 42-35 lead into half-time and managed to keep the pressure on in the second half to secure the win. D'Montez Owens led Shenango with 22 points and Cameron Brown secured a double-double by scoring 13 points and pulling down 17 rebounds.

Shenango heads on the road this weekend to take on Penn State Hazleton on Friday night and Penn State Schuylkill on Saturday afternoon.
