Men's Basketball Falls at Home to Fisher

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball fell to NAIA opponent Fisher College in the first of two meeting between the two teams.

An early run by Fisher saw them establish a double-digit lead with 15:41 left in the first half. A three-point field goal by Amir Gray (Washington, DC / Quince Orchard High School) narrowed Schuylkill's deficit to 7 with 12:26 to play in the opening half. A late surge by Fisher further extended their lead to 39-19 with 3:07 remaining.

As Fisher sought to break away following two consecutive baskets at the start of the second half, Schuylkill promptly responded. Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Catonsville High School) converted two field goals to halt Fisher's run. Antwuan Byrd (Harrisburg, PA / Bishop McDevitt High School) attack then caught the hot hand, sinking back-to-back three-pointers, bringing Schuylkill's deficit to 58-36 with 15:33 remaining.

Trailing 76-54 with 8:58 remaining in the game, Schuylkill mounted a comeback with five consecutive points by Bryce Hensley (Auburn, PA / Blue Mountain High School),  sparking a 10-2 run that brought them closer to striking distance. Despite the effort, Fisher managed to extend their lead as time waned, ultimately securing the victory over Schuylkill.

Byrd led Schuylkill with 21 points on the night. Dixon finished with an 18-point; 11 rebound double-double. Gray tallied 12 points while Hensley added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
