Shenango Dominates Wilkes-Barre as Williamson Sets School Record

Penn State Shenango delivered an impressive all-around performance, cruising to a dominant 94-43 victory over Penn State Wilkes-Barre in a home PSUAC matchup. The Lions controlled the game from start to finish, using a strong first quarter to set the tone and never looking back.

The afternoon belonged to Shar'Da Williamson, who broke the Penn State Shenango Women's Basketball school record for points in a single game, finishing with a remarkable 31 points on an efficient 13-for-23 shooting. Williamson, who already reached the 1,000-point milestone earlier this season, added four steals and three rebounds to her record-breaking performance, showcasing her leadership on both ends of the floor.

Jaysina Sellers complemented Williamson's efforts with 19 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Alli Lewis added 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and grabbed five boards. Hailee Aguinaga anchored the paint with a dominant performance on the glass, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds and chipping in seven points. Gabrielle King provided a key spark off the bench, contributing 11 points and eight rebounds in just 19 minutes.

Shenango's defense was relentless throughout the game, holding Wilkes-Barre to just 19.3% shooting from the field and 4.8% from three-point range. The Lions' rebounding dominance, which included 15 offensive boards, helped fuel their fast-paced offense, particularly in the second half when they outscored Wilkes-Barre 54-24.

With the win, Penn State Shenango improves to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Lions will now take a break for the holidays before returning to action on Friday, January 17th, when they travel to face Penn State Scranton. With Williamson leading the way and making history, Shenango will look to build on this momentum and continue climbing the PSUAC standings in the new year.
