Mont Alto, PA- Lady Saders kicked off their second semester hoops last night (Jan 22) in an away match-up against the Penn State Mont Alto Nittany Lions.
Lady Saders put up an impressive first three quarters against the Nittany Lions the final score after the third being 41-36. However, the Crusaders could not sustain their play through the fourth quarter dropping it by a score of 29-11, leading to a final score of 70-47.
Although the team lost its first game back, there were several bright spots for the squad. The Crusaders had played Mont Alto earlier in the season and in that match-up they scored just 31 points. The 47 points last night shows the team is moving in the right offensive direction. Also, last night, Kate Walz (Freshman) and Annie McGraw (Sophomore) both notched double figures in points, Walz dropped 16 while McGraw added 15 of her own. Mary Heisler (Senior) put forth an impressive effort on the boards, as she recorded 14 rebounds to go with her 8 points.
The teams next game is Jan 25th, a home game against Appalachian Bible College.
