Big Road Win

Big Road Win

Penn State DuBois went on the road today to take on Pitt-Bradford as the last game before the holiday break.  DuBois is coming off a 2-game losing weekend that was a heartbreaker for them, so a win was needed to take into the break.

The game started off even throughout the first half of play and would go into halftime with a 27-27 tie game.  Pitt-Bradford would come out and hit a few quick shots in the 2nd half to go up by 10, 44-34.  DuBois would not stop and kept chipping away with tough defense and good shot selection to make a comeback.

Jaiquil Johnson would put up 13 points in the 2nd half, while Cole Love would go 3-4 from the 3-point line in the 2nd half to help keep DuBois in the game.  Defensively, DuBois' staple defense would get enough turnovers from the opposition to make the difference.

DuBois would finalize the comeback and go on to win the game, 64-57.  Coach Smay always points towards his team's hustle in their wins.  "My guys never quit, whether we are down 20 or up 20, they never stop going 100% for me.  Offensively, we have some work to do, but if they give effort on defense we'll always be in the game.  So proud of how hard this team works every day."

Johnson ended the game with 23 points, while Love added 12, and Ashton Fortson put in 9 points to go along with his 9 rebounds.
