As has been the theme as of late, the Williamson baseball team fell behind early in the opening game of their doubleheader against Penn State Hazelton. And, as has also been the case, the team would rally to get close at the end. Sadly for Mechanics fans though, they didn't get close enough, as they fell to the Lions 7-5.
Williamson fell behind 4-1 early on and found themselves down 7-3 in the seventh inning before a two-run home run by Joe Kelly got them to within two. It was not enough, as the Mechanics dropped to 10-6 on the year.
Shane McLaughlin came on in relief early on in the game and did a fantastic job of keeping Williamson within striking distance.
