Men's Basketball Falls to Penn State Brandywine

MEDIA, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball dropped their road contest to Penn State Brandywine on Saturday.

Schuylkill began Saturdays's contest scoring seven unanswered points. Brandywine's first three points of the contest were immediately answered by a made basket by Hadir Boswell (Philadelphia, PA / West Philadelphia Catholic High School), granting Schuylkill a 9-3 lead with 14:19 remaining in the first half. A 7-0 run pushed Brandywine in front at the 12:30 mark.

A 7-3 stretch by Schuylkill's second unit gave them an 18-13 lead with 7:14 to go in the half, forcing a Brandywine timeout. A late run by Brandywine gave them a 32-24 lead before a made three-point basket pushed their lead to double digits heading into halftime.

Boswell and Andrew Sepp (Bogota, NJ / Saint Mary High School) accounted for all eight of Schuylkill's points during the first six minutes of the second half before a made layup by Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Catonsville High School) made it a one possession game with 13:40 to go in the contest.

Schuylkill tied the game at 37 following a made free throw by Lamine Diop (Cincinnati, OH / Finneytown High School) with 10:57 remaining. Brandywine then managed to break away as a late run ultimately extended their lead to double digits, holding on to the lead for the rest of the game.

Boswell recorded 12 points and 9 rebounds for Schuylkill. Antwuan Byrd (Harrisburg, PA / Bishop McDevitt High School) also scored 12 points in the loss.

Schuylkill (8-12, 5-5 PSUAC) will travel to Penn State Scranton on Tuesday for their next matchup.
