Sharon, Pa – The Shenango Lady Lions were unable to capitalize on their recent win and fell to the visiting DuBois squad in three straight sets on Wednesday night at the F.H. Buhl Club; (25-17, 25-11, 25-16.)

The first set saw Shenango fall behind early 6-3, but the Lady Spikers were able to maintain a very close score through much of the set. Fr. Emily Bortnick notched three serve points to lead Shenango, but DuBois serving was much more consistent as they notched 14 points off from behind the line to capture the set 25-17.

In the second set Shenango took the early lead 4-3 behind Bortnick's serve and stellar defensive play from freshmen Mercedes Krueger and Jill Dunleavy. The visiting Dubois squad once again went on tear capturing 5 straight serve points from Fr. Montana Hetrick. DuBois took a 9-4 lead, and then cruised to a dominating 25-11 win.

The third set once again saw Shenango get off to a hot start. Bortnick hammered out three straight serve points to lead Shenango to a 4-1 lead. Hetrick once again answered the challenge firing off 5 serve points of her own to lead DuBois on a rally that saw them retake the lad 5-4. DuBois never relinquished this charge taking the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.

Shenango (2-9) will look to recapture their winning ways tonight, as they head to Meadville to battle The Allegheny Gators at Allegheny College for a 7 pm start.
