Men's Basketball Dominates Clarks Summit

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball defeated NCAA Division III opponent Clarks Summit University by a score of 76-46.

After Jahmir Tyrell's (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy High School) steal with 14:37 to go in the first half, Tyrell successfully connected with Wilvens Fleurizard (Tamarac, FL / Coral Springs High School) for a field goal, initiating a 13-2 surge for Schuylkill. This sequence established a 23-12 lead for Schuylkill, prompting a timeout from Clarks Summit. Tyrell contributed to all but one of Schuylkill's baskets during this run. As the first half concluded, Schuylkill held a commanding 19-point advantage.

During the first period, Schuylkill displayed great shooting accuracy, boasting a remarkable 62.5% success rate from beyond the arc and an overall field goal percentage of 57.1%.

Maintaining their assertive stance into the second half, Schuylkill consistently clashed with Clarks Summit. A pivotal 12-2 run, highlighted by seven straight points by Fleurizard and a thunderous slam from Tyrell, further widened Schuylkill's lead to 32 points with 7:21 left in the game.

Fleurizard had a perfect night from the field, finishing 9-9 with 23 points to go with 6 steals. Also active on the defensive side was Tyrell who tallied 4 steals to go with 10 points and 4 assists. Devin Adams (Baltimore, MD / Kenwood High School) shot 3-3 from 3-point range, giving him 9 points on the night. Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Catonsville High School) led the team in rebounds with 10.

Schuylkill (1-3 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will play their final home game this Friday against NCAA Division II Mansfield University before traveling to NCAA Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday.
