Men's Basketball Edges Penn State Brandywine

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. - Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball defeated PSUAC opponent Penn State Brandywine on Wednesday.

Schuylkill started strong with a 7-0 run at the onset of Wednesday night's game. Brandywine attempted to counter with four consecutive points, but Makhi Jones (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township High School) halted their momentum with a jump shot, prompting a Brandywine timeout with 13:52 remaining in the half.

Trailing 16-13, Schuylkill mounted a 10-0 run to regain control, heading into halftime with a 29-22 lead.

A free throw by Devin Adams (Baltimore, MD / Kenwood High School) extended Schuylkill's lead to 48-35 with 10:14 left in regulation, marking their largest advantage of the game.

Despite Brandywine's efforts to stage a comeback in the second half, Schuylkill managed to maintain a double-digit lead for most of the period.

Adams led Schuylkill with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Jones added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Catonsville High School) finished with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Antwuan Byrd (Harrisburg, PA / Bishop McDevitt High School) tallied 9 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

Schuylkill (12-14 overall, 9-7 PSUAC) will travel to Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday, February 17th. Start time is 7:00 p.m.
