Carlow Eeks Out Win Over Shenango

The Penn State Shenango Men's Basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Carlow University on Wednesday night. Carlow got off to a hot start, going on a 21-0 in the early minutes, jumping out to a 26-10 lead. With about three minutes to go in the first half, Carlow took a 20-point lead, their largest of the half.

Shenango took advantage of several Carlow missed opportunities in the second half, battling back in the early minutes. With five minutes to go, Shenango had cut the lead in half to make it a ten-point game. The game remained close the rest of the way, and Izzy Santiago hit a clutch fadeaway three-pointer to bring it to a one score game with five seconds left. Shenango ultimately dropped the game after Carlow hit 1 of 2 free-throws to take a four-point lead and win, 98-94.

Shenango was led by Quintin Stephens who recorded a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Cameron Brown recorded a double-double of his own with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Shenango Lions are back in action Friday night at 8 PM at the Buhl Club when they take on Penn State Scranton.
