Day 1 of Holiday Tournament Ends with Loss to Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo

Monaca, PA - Day 1 of the Men's Annual Holiday Basketball Tournament kicked off today with 2 great match-ups. The first game tipped-off with UC Clermont taking on Penn State Mont Alto with the second game being headlined by Penn State Beaver taking on Bryant & Stratton - Buffalo. Beaver knew this would be an important game for them with it being the second to last game before the long awaited Holiday/Mid-Season break. The Lions started the game off well, keeping a fairly even score with BSC - Buffalo. This game would prove to be a tough one for both teams as this was their second match-up of the season already. Beaver won the first game with score of 77-74 and now lost this second game with final score of 81-64. Beaver went into the half down 8 with a score of 38-30 leaning in favor of BSC - Buffalo, and after taking the court again it became even more difficult to try and gain the lead. The Lions played tough and fought hard but it was just not enough to beat the Bobcats. 

Fourth year Chris Green (Washington, D.C.) was the top scorer for the Lions finishing with 22 points, going 7-12 from the field, 2-3 from behind the arc, and 6-8 from the line. C. Green also finished with 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. First year Alex Green (Chicago, IL) was another top performer for Beaver finishing with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists.

The Lions will be back on the court tomorrow, December 16th, for the final game before the long awaited break. They will be taking on University of Cincinnatie-Clermont starting at 3pm EST.
