Men's Basketball Drops Road Matchup to Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill fell to NCAA Division III opponent Eastern University on Monday.

Eastern established an early 10-point lead after beginning the contest on a 14-4 stretch. Eastern extended their lead to 30-10 on a made free throw with 11:06 to go in the first period. Eastern shot 47 percent from three-point range in the first half, 46 percent from the field.

Eastern's hot shooting continued in the second half as they raised their field goal percentage to 48 percent. Schuylkill received valuable contributions from their bench as they scored 38 of Schuylkill's 71 points. 11 different players scored for Schuylkill in the loss.

Jahmir Tyrell (Paterson, NJ / John F. Kennedy High School) was the high man for Schuylkill with 15 points on the night. Also scoring in double figures for Schuylkill were Antwuan Byrd (Harrisburg, PA / Bishop McDevitt High School) with 13 points, 5 assists and 7 steals, and Dashawn Dixon (Baltimore, MD / Catonsville High School) who tallied 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Schuylkill (1-5 overall, 0-0 PSUAC) will return to action on Tuesday, November 28th as they travel to Penn State York to play in their first PSUAC conference game of the season. Start time for that matchup is 8:00 p.m.
