Beaver takes down Schuylkill

Freedom, PA- Penn State Beaver's men soccer team defeats Penn State Schuylkill at home in their conference opener.

The game opened immediately as Beaver's Mike Biskup (Monaca, PA/Center) shot a header that went into the goal off of the crossbar at the 0:44 mark. Biskup was assisted by Jhonnathan Paiva (New York, NY/Evangel Christian) who provided him with a great cross pass in front of the goal. Beaver then began an onslaught of shots on goal, with 14 in the first half. The second goal came from Dominick Gajdos (West Mifflin, PA/West Miflin) at the 3:24 mark as Beaver went on to score 3 more times. The goals were made by Paiva, Nidal Qaddumi (Boston, MA/International School of Choueifat Alain), and a second goal by Biskup to close out the first half, 5-0.

In the second half Schuylkill attempted to get back into the match with an early goal to make the score 5-1, but they couldn't pull it together. Beaver soon answered their goal with one of their own as John Hansen (Beaver, PA/Beaver) scored at the 46:55 mark. As the momentum built again, Beaver started firing shots at the goal, resulting in 3 more goals by Paiva and two by Gajdos. The final score was 9-1, Beaver.

The team pulled together nicely in this match with consistent shots on goal and great play calling throughout. They look to continue their win streak as they take on La Roche on September 9 at 4 p.m on the road.
