DuBois, PA

The PSU DuBois Lady Lions came home today for another double header against PSUAC opponent, PSU New Kensington.  DuBois took both games of the double header Saturday at New Ken, and today looked to show their home crowd of what to expect for the 2019 season.

GAME ONE:

Hitting – 6 different DuBois players had at least 1 RBI for the Lady Lions in game 1; Laura Fatula (DuBois), Skylar Ceprish (West Branch), Brooke Harvey (2)(Northwest), Kayleigh MacTavish (2)(West Branch), Melody Young (Otto Eldred), Cayleigh Huffman (2)(Cabot, AR).

Lizzy Scott (West Branch), Harvey, and Huffman had a double each, and MacTavish had a triple to round out the aggressive bats from Penn State DuBois.

Pitching – Scott would get the call to start game 1 from Head Coach Jason Kern.  Scott would pitch a complete game with 9 strikeouts.  Scott gave up 11 hits and 7 runs, but held on to get the win, 13-7 for her DuBois team.

GAME TWO:

Hitting – It was an extra base kind of day for the Lady Lions of Penn State DuBois.  DuBois had the bats rolling again, and had a double each from Makenzie Lukehart (Glendale), Fatula, and Young.  DuBois also had 3 triples, 1 each from Ceprish, Harvey, and MacTavish.

Pitching – Harvey would start from the mound for DuBois in this 2nd game, and go 4 and 1/3rd innings before a sore hand would force her to the bench.  Scott came in for a 2 inning relief, and to pick up the win as she gave up only 1 hit and 1 run in those 2 innings of work.

DuBois will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Carlow College in another double header at Heindl Field in DuBois, PA.
