Lions Downed At Rowan; Bush Ties Saves Mark

GLASSBORO, N.J. -- Senior goalkeeper Emily Bush (Bayville, N.J./Central Regional) matched a program record with 19 saves, but the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team was defeated 5-0 at Rowan University Friday night in the season debut of both squads.

Bush turned away nine shots during the opening half and then made 10 stops over the final 45 minutes to tie Alyssa Abbonizio's single-game saves record set in 2015.

Rowan produced 41 shots overall, while limiting Brandywine to four shot attempts. Brianna Banks (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway Center) notched a pair of shots on goal, while Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett) added one shot on goal.

Four scorers provided the five goals for the Division III powerhouse Profs. Daria Jones netted two scores for Rowan, which built a 3-0 lead at the half.

Brandywine (0-1) is back on the road Wednesday when the Lions visit Wesley at 7:00 pm.
