Mont Alto Men’s Soccer Wins in 2OT

MONT ALTO, Pa. – The Penn State Mont Alto men's soccer team claimed their second 1-0 win over Central Penn College on Friday afternoon. Mont Alto won this one in thrilling fashion in the 105th minute of the second overtime period.

Mont Alto was able to play their way into the match and in the 105th minute Tyler Shannon (Biglerville, Pa. / Biglerville) recorded his only shot of the match as it bested Central Penn keeper Max Thorpe. The game-winner for Shannon was his second goal of the season and was assisted by Shounak Barat (Hagerstown, Md. / North Hagerstown)

The Nittnay Lions finished the match with 21 shots compared to Central Penn who recorded five shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Austin Moore (Brockway, Pa. / Brockway Area) made four saves for his second clean sheet of the season. The team placed 10 of their shots on frame and finished the match with an 11-4 advantage in corner kicks. 

Mont Alto will play under the lights in its next match at Williamson College of the Trades at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9.
