Men's Basketball falls in OT to York

The #1 ranked Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team took on the #2 ranked Penn State York in the PSUAC Championship game at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday at 4:00 pm. It was a game for the ages as it came down to the final seconds in overtime to decide a champion. Penn State York was victorious on a last second basket by Justin Sutton with about one second left in overtime. The matchup was nearly dead even as York won the first half 26-27 and Wilkes-Barre led the second half 27-26 leaving the two tied at 53 at the end of regulation. In overtime York edged Wilkes-Barre 4-3 in the final seconds to take down the number one seed and win the championship.

For Wilkes-Barre, Khalil White was hot and led the team off the bench with 30 points while Levaughn Knight-Soules followed with 10 points also off the bench, and Jordan Williams following those two with 7 points. Knight-Soules also led the team in rebounds with 16 followed by 10 from Ameer Biddle. Khalil White went nearly 90% on free throws going 17-19 on the afternoon.

Despite an incredibly hard fought battle, Wilkes-Barre fell on a heart-breaker in overtime which gave York the PSUAC trophy. The team played very well and finishes the regular and post season with a 22-5 record and 18-1 in the conference.
