Volleyball cruises to second straight PSUAC crown and 12th overall

University Park, PA - A year ago, it took the Penn State Fayette women's volleyball team five thrilling sets to down Penn State Beaver to win the program's 11th Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference championship.

Tuesday, in a rematch, Fayette (26-3) made quick work of Beaver (19-10) en route to its second consecutive PSUAC crown and 12th overall.

"The team has finally come together to become the team I know it can be," said head coach Sam Swetz. "I truly believe we are ready for nationals."

After winning the first set 25-17, Fayette battled to a 25-21 win in the second set.

In the final set, Fayette left little doubt as to who the class of the PSUAC conference is in 2019 as it won, 25-3.

Siteri Tale (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands HS) had 19 kills and 11 digs; Jadyn Barnish (Carmichaels, Carmichaels HS) recorded 24 assists, six aces and nine digs; Machaela Hall (Fairchance, PA/Albert Gallatin HS) had 21 digs and Angel Buwawa (Uniontown, PA/Laurel Highlands) finished with nine kills and 10 digs.
