Beaver Upends Golden Eagles in Return Home

The Kent State Tuscarawas Men's Basketball Team lost a close one to Penn State Beaver 74-69 in their second home game of the season following a three-game road trip. The teams played a tight see-saw first half and Beaver went to the locker room with a 36-32 halftime lead.

The second half was just competitive as the first as the Nittany Lion outscored the Golden Eagles by 1 point which was enough to secure a narrow 74-69 victory. The Eagles led by four points late in the game which was televised by the Tusco Sports Network. It was the first time in history that a game was broadcast from the Kent State Tuscarawas campus. A late charge by Beaver snatched the game from the navy and gold who were led by Gunnar Tharp (East Canton, OH Canton South) with 14 points and Drew Williams (Akron, OH / Kenmore-Garfield) with 13 off the bench. 

Malik Campbell (Canton, OH Canton South), LJ Williams (Winston-Salem, NC / Winston-Salem Prep) and Mike Huberty (Alliance, OH / Marlington) all chipped in with nine points apiece, while Jacob Hicks (Canton, OH / Central Catholic) grabbed a team high seven rebounds. The Golden Eagles fall to 1-4 on the season.
