#5 Penn State Greater Allegheny 6 - #8 St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn 1

BUTLER, PA- Second-Team USCAA All-American Evan James pitched a two-hitter for the fifth-seeded Penn State Greater Allegheny as the Lions defeated eighth-seeded St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn by a score of 6-1. James struck out eight Bears' batters on the way to the victory. His only blemish on the night was a wild pitch in the second inning that allowed St. Joseph's only run in the game to score.

Leading 2-1, Penn State Greater Allegheny would break the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning. Zach Zeroski walked to start the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Mike Visloski. Then, Oliver Girman was intentionally walked before Sam Weightman doubled down the right field line, scoring both runners. Jason Parisi followed with a single, driving in another run, and Adam Wehr doubled to score pinch runner Tyler Kugler and give the Lions their 6-1 lead.

Vinny Rossi and Brian Leubcke tallied the only hits on the afternoon for the Bears. St. Joseph's College pitcher Chris Cutrone went 4.2 innings, giving up all six runs. Penn State Greater Allegheny advances in the loser's bracket to face #9 Briarcliffe College at 6:30 PM.
