Matt Smith has been a work horse out of the bullpen in the early parts of the season for head coach Kenny Creehan. He led his team to a huge win in the opener of their spring trip, pitching a complete game while giving up four runs, only two earned, in a 7-4 win over top NJCAA powerhouse Lackawanna. Smith also appeared in two games in relief during the week, combining to throw 4.2 scoreless innings against Ancilla College and Nassau CC, ultimately earning his first save of the season in the second game.
