Trio Open PSUAC Volleyball Awards with Player of the Week Recognition

Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week 1

Outside hitter Sydney Mack has put up 20 kills with at .227 kill percentage in the team’s first two matches. She is averaging 3.85 kills per set and led Penn State Hazleton to its first conference win of the year over Penn State Lehigh Valley as Hazleton begins their quest for a repeat.

Women’s Volleyball Specialist of the Week 1

Sophia Del Vacchio, Penn State Hazleton

Third Year

Gainesville, Va.

In just four matches, Sophia Del Vacchio has recorded 100 assists, averaging 9.09 per set to lead the PSUAC in both categories. She’s also contributed 39 digs for Hazleton's defensive effort. Del Vacchio delivered a season-high 31 assists against Pitt-Greensburg during the week and helped Hazleton pick up its first conference win of the season over Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Lyla Kershner, Penn State Schuylkill

Libero Lyla Kershner dominated in her early career with 4.95 digs per set and a total of 109 digs in the six most recent matches. In Penn State Schuylkill’s home opener, Kershner and her team went 3-0 against Cheyney University. Kershner recorded a team-high 14 digs while also serving two aces in the match.
