Powell Notches 11 Aces in 3-0 Win Against PSU Scranton

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Tara Powell (Burgettstown) was unstoppable on the service line notching 11 aces in the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team 3-0 win against Penn State Scranton. With the scores 25-6, 25-7, 25-7, the Wildcats were on both offensively and defensively not allowing Scranton a chance to get into any sets. Sophomore Courtney Gernert (Palmyra) led with 10 kills while sophomore Caitlyn Curley (Middletown) totaled 19 assists. The win improves the team to 15-5 overall and 10-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

As a team, Penn College totaled 25 kills and 26 service aces. Freshman Gabrielle George (Morton) had five aces.

Next up, the Wildcats host Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday, Oct. 11 for a 7 p.m. match.
