Women’s Soccer: SUNY ESF Edges Out Lady Wildcats 3-2

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Despite eight saves from sophomore keeper Reda Vermilya (Turbotville), the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team lost 3-2 to SUNY ESF Monday. The Oaks scored two late goals to steal victory away from the Lady Wildcats. Sophomore Robyn Beddow (Lancaster) and freshman Kelsea Robbins (Milton) each scored a goal. With the loss, Penn College falls to 4-4 overall.

The first half was a tight defensive battle with a total of 11 shots taken. With just two minutes remaining in the half, freshman Robbins sent a pass to the corner that Beddow took to goal and kicked past the keeper and put the Lady Wildcats on top.

Things got more offensive in the second half with ESF tying it in the 46th off a set piece. Robbins made it 2-1 in Penn College's favor.

Just two minutes later the Oaks tied it again this time dribbling the ball down the middle past the defense. They put it out of reach in the 81st with bang-bang play in the box.

For the game, ESF outshot the Lady Wildcats 21-13.

Next up, Penn College travels to Lycoming College for the Battle for the Lumber on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.
