Women’s Soccer: Suhadolnik Scores Overtime Game Winner for Lady Wildcats

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Devon Suhadolnik (Carbondale) scored the overtime winner in the 94th to lift the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Chatham University Saturday.The Lady Wildcats looked to take the game in regulation but a goal in the 90th from the Cougars pushed it to extra time. Sophomore keeper Reda Vermilya (Turbotville) recorded the win in goal with a save. Penn College outshot Chatham 28-4. With the win, the team improves to 4-3 overall.  

 

In the first half, the Lady Wildcats outshot Chatham 18-2 but were unable to finish. They hit the post twice testing keeper Liz Sawyer on her toes. She made 11 saves in the half.

 

Sophomore Madilyn Walters (Lewistown) broke up the stalemate out of the break taking a ball that went through the keeper's hands to the back of the net. The goal came in the 47th.

 

With just seconds remaining in the game, Becca Pell sent a shot into the upper right hand corner from 30 yards out to force the game into overtime. Sarah Jugovic assisted on the goal.

 

In overtime, Suhadolnik dribbled up the sideline and the shot a bullet past Sawyer.

 

As a team, the Lady Wildcats had 17 shots on goal with Sawyer recording 15 saves.

 

Next up, Penn College hosts SUNY ESF for a 7 p.m. match on Monday, Sept. 30.
