Women’s Soccer: Walters Notches Two Assists in Win Over Mount Aloysius

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Madilyn Walters (Lewistown) recorded two assists to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team defeat Mount Aloysius College 4-1. Walters assisted on the first two goals of the game from freshmen Tara Bennethum (Jonestown) and Kelsea Robbins (Milton). Sophomore keeper Reda Vermilya (Turbotville) recorded the win with five saves. The Lady Wildcats now improve to 2-2 overall.  

 

Bennethum put Penn College on the board in the 19th taking a cross from Walters. Walters followed it up with a through pass in the 27th to help Robbins make it 2-0.

 

Mount Aloysius (1-4) cut the lead in half off a goal in the 35th from Lara Appiah. After the break, junior Valeria Passalacqua (McAlisterville) gave the Lady Wildcats some breathing room with an unassisted goal in the 63rd. Sophomore Robyn Beddow (Lancaster) netted the final goal in the 83rd off a pass from freshman Devon Suhadolnik (Carbondale).

 

For the game, Penn College totaled 28 shots to the Mounties' 11.

 

Next up, the Lady Wildcats travel to Penn State Harrisburg for a noon match on Saturday, Sept. 21.
