Lady Lions lose to the Redhawks

Monaca, PA- Penn State Beaver Lady Lions lose to the La Roche Redhawks during the Penn State Beaver Tip Off.

At the beginning of the first half Beaver opened with the first three points of game by Khalia Adams (Washington, DC / Phelps). Beaver held the lead for the first 3 minutes but at the 16:50 mark the Redhawks would score tying the game and shifting the momentum in their favor. Beaver's offense was able to put points on the board but their defense couldn't stop the Redhawks attempts. Beaver's Morgan Kurtz (Washington, PA / Trinity), Mason DePetro (Coraopolis, PA / Cornell), and Adams all led the team in the first half in regards to points. The Redhawks were able to score more often ending the half 48-28.

In the second half, Beaver's DePetro scored the first point but that wasn't enough to shift the scoring attempts the opposite side. The Redhawks were still able to keep their scoring efforts high with a 20 point lead within minutes. The lead grew smaller and then bigger every few minutes. DePetro led the team with 10 points in the half followed by Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, PA / Westinghouse) with 9. Beaver scored only 34 points compared to the Redhawks 53. The final score was 101-62, Redhawks.

Beaver now has a record of 0-2 and compete in the second round of the Penn State Beaver Tip Off tournament tomorrow.
