Media, PA--- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver defeated the #2 seeded PSU Fayette on Saturday to advance to the PSUAC Championship Game. The contest was tied up at the half, but the Lady Lions took control of the game in the second half and won by a score of 84-65. Beaver outrebounded the Lady Roaring Lions 37-26 and shot 57% from the field compared to Fayette's 37%.
Beaver was led offensively by Hayden Kimbrough (Rochester,Rochester) who finished with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds. Amanda Temple (Avella, Avella) added 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds while Katie Dennis (Hookstown, South Side) scored 14 points and collected 6 rebounds. Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) scored 13 points and Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh,Westinghouse) added 10 points to give the Lady Lions 5 scorers in double figures. Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool, East Liverpool) dished out 7 assists for Beaver in the win.
The Lady Lions will now play tomorrow afternoon against PSU Greater Allegheny for the PSUAC title. The game will be played at Penn State Brandywine starting at 1pm and a live feed can be found by visiting the Penn State Beaver athletic website.
