Beaver downs Scranton, Advances to PSUAC Final Four

Monaca, PA---- Penn State Beaver hosted PSU Scranton on Tuesday night in the PSUAC Elite Eight and won by a score of 88-55 as they advance to the PSUAC Final Four which will be held this weekend at Penn State Brandywine. Beaver led by only two midway through the first half but took a 39-28 lead into the half. Beaver opened up the first half with a 7-0 run and after a Scranton bucket, went on a 10-0 to give them a 56-30 lead. Beaver was able to hang on to the lead as they advance in the PSUAC playoffs.

Beaver was led by Morgan Kurtz (Washington, Trinity) who finished with a game-high 20 points while adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Hayden Kimbrough (Rochester, Rochester) finished with a double-double as she scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Cassandra Flowers (Pittsburgh, Westinghouse) also had a double-double as she scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds. Kristi Tibolet (Freedom, Freedom) scored 12 points giving Beaver four scorers in double figures. Katie Dennis (Hookstown, South Side) scored 9 points and had 12 rebounds while Jocelyn Warfield (Monaca, Central Valley) scored 7 points and finished with 11 rebounds. On the night, Beaver outrebounded Scranton 69-20.

Beaver will now travel to Penn State Brandywine for this season's PSUAC Final Four. Beaver will play the #2 PSU Fayette on Saturday with tip-off yet to be determined.
