Ladies Victorious On The Road Beating Mont Alto 70-45

By Sara Rinkunas

As a first year team the PSWS Lady Lions have had their fair share of struggles.  Perfecting their game, coming in with a new coach, and most of all learning to communicate with each other were all things these ladies had to overcome since they met in the fall.  However, they have been determined as they took the court each night practicing together, watching tape of their next opponents and even getting to know eachother a little, too.  With pasta dinners at one of the girls houses before the games these ladies work on being true team mates.

With one win under their belt at home this season the ladies hit the road for the second time together traveling to Mont Alto this past Saturday.  Jessica Segilia, who helped manage the team last semester before stepping into a uniform herself this spring, had 30 points to help motivate the ladies on the court.  Katie Flynn also had 10 rebounds to keep the ball in PSWS possession.  Danielle Segila added 18 points while Mar Tsakonas was 2-2 at the line and the team pulled away with a giant victory 70-45.

The score meant more for the ladies than being able to add a "w" to their statistics.  The win was about coming together, staying motivated throughout tough times, and sticking it out on the road with each other.

Congratulations Ladies!!
