Three Lady Lions Perform Double-Double in Win over Mont Alto

Mont Alto, PA- Penn State Beaver's Women's Basketball Team (10-5, 7-2 PSUAC) played their second part of a back to back this weekend against Penn State Mont Alto (Mont Alto, PA).

Beaver's Hali DeSarro (East Liverpool/East Liverpool, OH) made the games first shot to give the Lady Lions a quick 2-0 lead. After Mont Alto responded with their own FG, Beaver quickly took over the game. Beaver lead by 10 early into the game before closing out Mont Alto in the first half, only giving up 15 points. The Lady Lions went into the half up 46-15.

The second half remained the same as Beaver dominated the whole game. Only giving up 14 points in the second half, the Lady Lions exceeded past Mont Alto for the afternoon. Going on to win 88-29.

Amanda Temple (Avella/Avella, PA) lead all scorers for the afternoon with 33 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Coleen Mead (Newport Harbor/Costa Mesa, CA) with 13 points. Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool/East Liverpool, OH) also added 11 points with a perfect game (4-4 FG and 3-3 3-Ptr) and 10 assists. Beaver shot 54.5% from the field and 50% from three point range.

The Lady Lions will return home on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 6pm against Penn State Fayette (Uniontown, PA). Free Penn State Beaver Bag Tags will be given away to those in attendance.
