Worthington-Scranton Women edge out Penn College, 74-69

SCRANTON, Pa. - Freshman Dana Reed (Sunbury) and junior Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) each scored 18 as the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's basketball team lost 74-69 to Penn State Scranton. The Wildcats led the entire first half and took a 35-33 lead out of halftime. Up by two with 10 minutes left, Penn College got into foul trouble sending Scranton to the line allowing the Lions to take the lead and the victory. The loss drops the team to 1-14 overall and 1-6 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Also for the Wildcats, freshman Bryanna Valentine (Mifflinburg) sank 15 in her first game of the year. Freshman Shelby Straub (South Williamsport) led the team in rebounds with eight.

Next up, Penn College hosts Penn State Wilkes Barre for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday, Jan. 21.
