Lady Lions 8 Game Winning Streak Comes to An End

Salem, WV- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver (8-2, 5-0 PSUAC) headed to West Virginia this afternoon against NCAA Division II school Salem International University (Salem, WV). 

Beaver started out the game with a quick three pointer by Coleen Mead (Newport Harbor/Costa Mesa, CA). The game was tied at 4 (18:26) before Salem went on a 8-0 run to lead 14-6. Three straight three pointers by Brooke Mulneix (Riverside/Beaver Falls, PA) kept Beaver within ten most of the half. The Lady Lions trailed going into the half however 38-26.

Salem came out fast paced unfortunately going on a 9-0 run to open up the second half. Beaver scored, but Salem added on the pressure completely shutting out the Lady Lions with a 26 point lead with 10:41 left in the game. The Lady Lions went on to lose 77-45.

For the afternoon, Mulneix led the team with 28 points followed by Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool/East Liverpool, OH) with 10. Amanda Temple (Avella/Avella, PA) had 10 rebounds. 

The Lady Lions will play again on the road Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 7pm against Ohio University- Eastern (St. Clairsville, OH).
