Lady Lions Make PSU Beaver History

Williamsport, PA- The Lady Lions of Penn State Beaver (7-1, 5-0 PSUAC) played their second of two away games this weekend against Penn College (Williamsport, PA). 

Penn College was up 4-3 when Beaver went on a 14-0 run contributed by Coleen Mead (Newport Harbor/Costa Mesa, CA) and Brittany Tomaselli (East Liverpool/East Liverpool, OH)  to go up 17-4 at 15:38.  From there, Beaver slowly built up its lead and went into the half up 52-21. 

The second half was much like the first. Although both teams scored 35 points in the half, it wasn't for Penn College as the Lady Lions went on to win 87-56.

For the afternoon, Beaver shot 45.6% from the field and 33.3% from three point range. Amanda Temple not only led the team with 18 points, she also shot 7-7 (100%) from the field. Mead, Tomaselli, and Kayona Ward (Beaver Falls/Beaver Falls, PA) had 16 points each. Ward also had 15 rebounds and Mead had 5 assists.

The Lady Lions next game will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1pm against Central Penn (Summerdale, PA).
