Softball Scores 35 Between Two PSUAC Wins Over Worthington Scranton

Scranton, Pa- Led by Ashley Lowenstein's (San Jose, CA/Presentation) four doubles and two RBI's in game one, the Greater Allegheny (4-7, 2-2 PSUAC) softball team picked up a pair of PSUAC wins over Penn State Worthington Scranton, by scores of 18-2 and 17-1.

Freshman Shelby Bendick (White Oak, PA/McKeesport) crushed a two-run homer and added a double, while also picking up the win on the mound. She struck out six batters and allowed just the lone run. Freshman Sydney Harris (Pittsburgh, PA/Woodland Hills) went 2-2 at the plate, with a double and three RBI's.

In game two, Lowenstein continued her strong performance by collecting four hits. Bendick went 2-2 with a double, while sophomore Jordyn Holsing (McKeesport, PA/Elizabeth Forward) added three hits. Freshman Nichole Metzler (California, PA/California) picked up the win for GA, striking out one and allowing just the one run.

Softball returns to action tomorrow afternoon for a PSUAC twin bill against Penn State Hazleton. First pitch is set for 12 PM.
