Fayette, Schuylkill Defend PSUAC Cross Country Championship Crown

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Penn State Fayette and Penn State Schuylkill defended their PSUAC Cross Country championships on Saturday at Norlo Park, while individuals from each team won their respective races on a wet and windy day in southcentral Pennsylvania.

Fayette dominated the men's race, placing five runners in top seven overall, to capture their third straight PSUAC title. Fayette's Nyoah Marteny won the individual title with a time of 30:22 in muddy and rainy conditions on the 8K course. Teammate Drew Erdman finished second while Brandywine's Brian Abel finished third, just third seconds back of the leader.

Schuylkill won their second consecutive women's crown, while individual champion Alexis Luna of Schuylkill also repeated in 2018. Luna won the 6K race in 27:40, 22 seconds ahead of Catharine Mooney of Brandywine, who was the runner-up. 

Next up for PSUAC Cross Country teams are the USCAA National Championships, which will be held on Friday, November 9 in Virginia Beach, Va.
