Men’s Soccer: Wildcats Hold Off PSU Wilkes Barre For 5-3 Win

 

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Senior Christopher Brennan (New Hope) and sophomore Luke McFalls (New Oxford) each scored two goals to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team to a 5-3 win over Penn State Wilkes Barre. Penn College scored two unanswered goals in the first half before Wilkes Barre started to chip away at the lead in the second half. Senior David Munn (Athens) recorded the win in goal with three saves. With the victory, the Wildcats now improve to 12-4 overall and 7-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. 

 

McFalls opened the game in the 21st rebounded off a missed penalty kick. Just five minutes later, freshman Douglas Binnie (Charlton, Mass.) scored off a corner assisted by senior Phil Bair (Harrisburg) and sophomore Tarik LaRoche (Milton).

 

With the score 2-1, Brennan proceeded to score back-to-back goals in the 51st and 53rd minutes both assisted by McFalls. Despite Wilkes Barre scoring two more goals in the half, McFalls scored one more goal, assisted by Brennan to keep his team on top.

 

In the game, the Wildcats totaled 22 shots.

 

Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Greater Allegheny for a 3 p.m. match on Sunday, Oct. 13.
