Men's soccer wins against Penn State Hazelton

Hazelton, PA- Penn State Beaver men's soccer wins over the evenly matched Penn State Hazelton.

After a first half of no score up until the last minutes, neither team could make shots and when they did the shots were stopped by the goalies. Beaver led the match in shots and goalie Matt Fetch (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) was able to stop all but one shot sent to the net. At the 40:53 mark Hazelton scored putting them in the lead for the remainder of the half.

In the second half, Beaver was looking to redeem themselves after close to 15 minutes without an answer to Hazelton's goal. At the 69:55 minute mark, Marcus Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Perry) was able to take the ball directly to the net and make the goal. Once Smith's momentum builds he doesn't stop, 2 minutes later he scored again putting Beaver up by a point. Beaver played with consistency and kept driving the ball up the field. Beaver's Mike Biskup (Monaca, PA/Center) was able to score the goal that closed out the match with a final score of 3-1.

Beaver's next match-up is against Penn State Mont Alto on Saturday, October 12 at 2 p.m.
