Greater Allegheny Men's Soccer Takes a 2-1 Decision over PSUAC Foe

Monaca, Pa. - Three goals within the first seven minutes of play will be the only scoring done over the course of ninety minutes in the match-up of Penn State Greater Allegheny and Penn State Beaver on Wednesday afternoon.

Beaver was the first to get on the board but freshman forward Manoj Sharma (India/Baldwin) would not let that go on for long. He took a ball down less than two minutes later and beat the goalkeeper to tie the score at 1. Freshman Bengaly Diane (New Jersey/James J. Ferris) notched another just two minutes from there to boost the game's score, 2-1.

Greater Allegheny held the lead from there for the remaining 83 minutes of the game. Goalkeeper Michael Anderson (Herminie, Pa./Yough) went on to face 11 shots on goal, saving ten. Beaver managed to keep GA's defense on their toes, as they took 25 shots total. The GA offense peppered Beaver's defense as they managed to get off twelve shots.

Greater Allegheny (3-7, 2-5) will host a PSUAC conference match-up on Saturday, as Penn State Scranton comes to Francis McClure for a match set to begin at 1 p.m.
