Men's Soccer opens season at Marietta College Open

Marietta, OH -- The Men's Soccer Team opened their season this afternoon against Marietta College. Beaver quickly went down 1-0 at 9:37 and then let Marietta score a second quick goal at the 13:29 mark. Marietta's two goal lead would turn into a three goal lead by the end of the first half. Beaver seemed to struggle in the first half with not a single shot on goal.

Their second half of play unfortunately saw much of the same. Marietta's early lead proved to be too much for Beaver to handle as their very young team gave up 5 more goals in the second half to fall by a final score of 8-0.

In goal for Beaver was Matt Fetch (Aliquippa, PA/Hopewell) who did have 25 saves on the day.

The Lions return to action tomorrow when they face Otterbein for a 12:00PM start.
