Wildcats Going to PSUAC Championships After 2-0 Win in Semifinals

Men's Soccer:

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – With a 2-0 victory against Penn State New Kensington, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team has earned its way into its seventh straight Penn State University Athletic Conference championship match. Senior Ben Shade (Fleetwood) scored the game winner in the 63rd while freshman Christian Dressler (Mifflintown) added some cushion in the 89th. Junior David Munn (Athens) recorded the seven-save shutout as the Wildcats improve to 14-2-1 overall and 10-0 in the PSUAC.

Despite outshooting the Lions 20-7 in the first half, Penn College could not get on the score sheet. The team was not in sync committing five off sides in the half.

Out of the break, Shade broke the scoreless streak taking a pass from sophomore Talila Tolla (Mountville) at the center of the box. New Kensington (7-8, 7-4 PSUAC) had some opportunities but Dressler's goal, a shot from the corner of the box, sealed the deal for the team.

The Lions totaled 11 shots to Penn College's 38.

The Wildcats will host #5 Penn State Hazleton for the championship game at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27.
