Almehdhar and Alyamani Each Score Two in Penn College Win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshmen Ali Almehdhar (Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia) and Yousef Alyamani (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) each scored two to lead the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team to a 9-0 win against Penn State Scranton. Junior David Munn (Athens) and freshman Samuel Piatt (Bedford) shared the shutout that improves the team to 9-2-1 overall and 6-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. The Wildcats dominated play from the start outshooting Scranton 50-3.

Penn College scored five goals in the first half. Senior Ben Shade (Fleetwood) scored the opening goal and game winner taking a chip from freshman Tarik LaRoche (Milton) into goal in the 13th. Freshman Christian Dressler (Mifflintown) followed up in the 14th taking advantage of a rebound. Just a minute later, sophomore Blayne Allen (Trumbull, Conn.) headed a cross from LaRoche.

Almehdhar and freshman Taylor Hurst (Harrisburg) closed out the half with goals in the 43rd and 45th minutes, respectively. In the half, Scranton goalkeeper Mike Quinn had an impressive 18 saves.

In the 48th, Alyamani opened up his tab followed by a goal from freshman Nathan Lehman in the 56th. Almehdhar and Alyamani closed out the game scoring in the 67th and 70th respectively.

Also for the Wildcats, sophomore Braden Conner (Reading) had two assists.

Penn College next travels to Penn State York for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, Oct. 6.
