Wildcats Stay Perfect in PSUAC with 7-0 Win Against PSU Mont Alto

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Freshman Jonatan Leon-Ruiz (Landenburg) notched a goal and an assist as the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team defeated Penn State Mont Alto 7-0 in conference play Saturday. Seven different players tallied goals in the game as the Wildcats outshot their opponents 59-3. The win improves the team to 8-2-1 overall and has them staying undefeated in conference at 5-0. For Mont Alto, keeper Aetegan Arivalahan had 13 saves.

Junior Christopher Brennan (New Hope) started things off in the 21st when he took a pass from sophomore Blayne Allen (Trumbull, Conn.) right in front of the goal. Leon-Ruiz then assisted sophomore Jose Gomez-Zavala (Kennett Square) in the 28th. Sophomore Jacob Tuck (Hollsopple) closed out the first half with a laser from 30 yards out to give Penn College the 3-0 lead.

Junior keeper David Munn (Athens) played the first half without seeing a shot from the Lions.

In the second, junior Phil Bair (Harrisburg), Leon-Ruiz and sophomore Braden Conner (Reading) all scored unassisted goals in the 59th, 64th and 65th minutes, respectively. Freshman Luke McFalls (New Oxford) closed out the game in the 89th when he netted a ball from freshman Adrian Bukur (West Hazleton).

Freshman keeper Samuel Piatt (Bedford) finished out the game and notched a save.

Penn College next hosts Susquehanna University on Tuesday, Oct. 2 for a 5p.m. match.
