Wildcats Dominate Valley Forge Christian 7-0

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Outshooting its opponent 44-5, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team defeated Valley Forge Christian College 7-0 in non-conference play Monday. Seven different Wildcats notched a goal with freshman Luke McFalls (New Oxford) recording the game winner in the fifth minute. The win improves to the team to 2-1-1 overall.

Penn College scored two goals in the first with sophomore Jose Gomez-Zavala (Kennett Square) scoring the second goal off a long pass from junior Cody Sollenberger (Lancaster) in the 11th minute. The defense was tight allowing only one shot by the Patriots in the half.

The Wildcats got right to business out of the break as junior Phil Bair (Harrisburg) scored in the 59th with some deft dribbling out of the corner. Senior Ben Shade (Fleetwood) scored his third goal of the year in the 73rd and just four minutes later junior Chris Brennan (New Hope) took a chip from freshman Christian Dressler (McAlisterville) making it 5-0. Sophomores Blayne Allen (Trumbull, Conn.) and Talila Tolla (Mountville) scored the final two goals in the 82nd and 89th.

Freshman keeper Jonatan Leon-Ruiz (Landenberg) recorded the win with two saves and shared the shutout with freshman Samuel Piatt (Bedford) who came on in the last 13 minutes.

Next up, Penn College travels to Penn State Wilkes Barre for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
