The Championship is the second straight for the Wildcats

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore Tristan Smith (Southampton, Bermuda) scored two to help the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team win its second straight Penn State University Championship 2-1 over Penn State Hazleton. Senior Patrick Kehoe (Oley) assisted on both as the team earns a berth into the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship Tournament in Asheville, N.C.

Things started out rocky for Penn College (12-6-2, 9-1-1 PSUAC) when the Lions' Noah Martz beat the defense to score in the 22nd. Koy Whitekiller assisted on the play. Penn College outshot them in the half 15-3 but still went into the break down the goal.

Smith netted a cross from Kehoe in the 62nd to tie. In the 82nd, the Wildcats earned a corner kick. Kehoe crossed the ball perfectly for Smith to finish with a header.

Freshman keeper Aaron Volz (West Chester) earns the win with three saves. The Wildcats totaled 27 shots and nine corners in the match.

The win is retribution for Penn College. The two teams faced each other in the regular season with Hazleton the 1-0 victor. Martz scored the game winner in the match.

The USCAA tournament is slated to begin on Thursday, Nov. 3.
