Sophomore Mitch Pequignot opened up scoring the 26th minute

SCRANTON, Pa. – Despite downpours and slippery conditions, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team defeated Penn State Scranton 3-1 Wednesday night. Sophomore Chris Brennan (New Hope) scored the game winner that sees the team improve to 9-5-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Mitch Pequignot (Trout Run) scored in the 26th to get things started. Brennan scored in the 35th to go into the half up 2-0. Scranton chipped away at the lead, netting a goal in the 78th before freshman Sterling Weikel (Dewart) sealed the victory with a goal from Brennan in the 86th.

The Wildcats outshot Scranton 17-2. Freshman keeper Aaron Volz (West Chester) recorded the victory with a save.

Penn College has one more conference match left against Penn State New Kensington. They host the Lions on Friday, Oct. 20 for a 3 p.m. match. A win will clinch the #2 seed for the PSUAC Playoffs.
