Green, PSU Wilkes-Barre capture crowns at White Course Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State Mont Alto's Austin Green fired a round of 4-under on Thursday afternoon to capture medalist honors at the PSUAC White Course Golf Invitational hosted by Penn State Brandywine. Green's 68 was one better than Joshua Zelinsky of Penn State Schuylkill.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre earned team championship honors by three strokes over Penn State DuBois. Wilkes-Barre carded a four-man total of 317, with three players coming in with rounds of 80 or better. Jonathan Wilson led the way with a 73, good for fourth in the 60-person field. Adam Borton shot 79 and Anthony Shaver carded an 80 to propel the Lions to an opening season victory.

Green, a previous PSUAC Champion, was able to withstand an hour-plus weather delay on what was otherwise a warm, muggy day in central Pennsylvania. Green was one of three players under par for the day, as Penn State Lehigh Valley's Brian Zinman shot 1-under 71 to finish third.
