Cleary University's Devin Young Leading After Day One

State College, Pa. - Through the first day of the 2015 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA)/Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Golf Championships, Cleary University's Devin Young leads the way with a 68, four-under-par.

The opening rounds featured 18 teams with 111 accumulative golfers, setting a new record for participants in the tournament. 

As a team, the Cleary University Cougars are leading the way with 294, just six-over-par. SUNY Delhi is just 11 strokes behind, marking 305. WVU Tech (316) sits in third place with Rochester College (321) and SUNY Canton (323) rounding out the top five.

The Penn State University teams are clogging up the middle with places 11th through 15th, scoring between 346-374. Penn State Lehigh Valley leads the PSUAC in 6th with 324.

Young, the individual leader half way through this years' tournament, put up just one bogey on the day but made up that stroke with his five birdies. WVU Tech's Matt Ryan and Cleary's Trevor Spagnoletti are tied for second place (73), while SUNY Delhi's Corey Haight and Kevin Johnson round out the top five individual's scores (75).

After today's results, Cleary University's 294 total ties the second-lowest team round in the USCAA National Championships. Cleary joins Lindenwood University-Belleville, who shot 294 in the second round of the 2011 tournament. With his 68-stroke day, Young tied with Southern Maine CC's Tommy Stirling, after his 68 in the second round of 2011 event.

The final round of the championship will tee off at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start on the Penn State Blue Course.
